One bird common all season is the Western Scrub Jay, which can usually be found in flocks and also can be seen in the air, trees, or ground foraging. With the abundance of green space O’Melveney has provided a protected habitat for local wildlife to thrive, Western Scrub Jay’s are typically easier to spot. Take a walk run, hike, rock climb, or disk golf outdoors, more than likely you may come across a Western Scrub Jay or many others off the Birds of O’Melveney Park checklist.
